Pearls of Wisdom

“We must allow one another to find hope wherever they can find it. Lest we become hypocritical thieves who will bear the burden
of dimming their light.”

Fever Pitch(Twilight Sing-Song)

Fever Pitch(Twilight Sing-Song)

in the crisp twilight air

with baton directive

not just from any maestro

but the silver quartered moon

the choir begins

a frenzy of chatter

chirping in staccatto

as the heat of humidity

during the day’s peak

of sun’s brutal glare

had kept them from sharing

all the latest tidbits of gossip

dashing here, there,

darting everywhere

no time! no time!

must feed hungry beaks

no time! no time!

so under starry skies

we shall now tweet

they reach fever pitch

twittering one over another

tittle tattlers in surround sound

sing song to get a

chirrup in edgewise

oh musical wonders

oblivious that any soul

could be listening in.

Oh, but we are,

along with so many others!

                                                               Symphony at Dusk

the sun lays her head

upon broad earthly shoulders

as the night maestro

ushers in the starry notes

grazioso for our eyes

Stellar Minx

Stellar Minx

celestial rocks break free

from intergalactic rides

streaking in their final blaze of glory

across charcoal cajun blackened skies

sprinkled with shimmering stars and planets

giving us pause to marvel

at what we romanticize as falling stars

are nothing short of amazing

but meteors cleverly disguised…

Simplicity(My Bouquet of Wisdom)

My Bouquet of Wisdom,–©g.a.meeder, 2018®

Simplicity
(My Bouquet of wisdom)

tiny seeds of life
that have taken root
give me a
simple pleasure
that only goes
to show
how easy to please
i have become in my life
with the smallest bouquet
of wildflowers
hand picked
for good measure.

Twilight Falls

Twilight Falls

Sunbeams kiss day leaves

shimmering on lush reds, golds and russets

rippling like sun-streaked ocean waves at sunset

final rays of sunshine fade

vanishing into twilight

where celestial bodies sparkle and twinkle

awaiting the grand entrance of the moon

as she positions herself into the plush, black sky

bringing with her a mystical hush

that will silence the earth around her

leaving me alone in the world

to sit on the swing watching, waiting,

pondering inquisitively

in reverential awe

yearning for the first falling star

to leave behind its trail of cosmic dust…

Endless Sky

Endless Sky

she ignited the horizon

ablaze in golden streaks

of promise that spoke

boldly of day’s end

as night snuck in upon us

covering the western skies

in blankets of twinkling stars

prodding us in wise,

ancient native voices.

what took you so long

to discover this spot

where you are?

our eyes shush their voices

as they wander wall to wall

beacons of lights across the

land of endless sky

Best Of Days

Pine Tree Haven

Best of days

golden sun will lower her gaze

behind blushing stratus laced clouds

over seasonally timed

dramatic displays of sunsets

guiding us arise to kinder days

which will cast shadows

on trees that genuflect awe

in earthly praise

uttering murmurs as they wave

with chilled to a crisp night air

lightly stroking our cheeks

with secrets they can no longer keep

because soon they will play a concerto

of colors in high sopranos, in low altos

brushstroking themselves

with colors ablaze

giving us the promise of

our best of days.

The Late Bloomer of Summer’s Choir

The Late Bloomer of Summer’s Choir

the cicada’s late night

choir performances had

all but disappeared

until I heard the one strong drone

singing solo, alto in search of a lover

that will never come

made me weep for the late bloomer

Be The Music…

“Be the music you want to hear,

dance, eat, cry, laugh, ease sorrow with,

make love too.

Make it pretty, kind, soft, loud, poetic, tender,

sing-out for those that can’t as well,

however you want the world to hear you!

But always make it colorful,

because YOU are unforgetttable…
